Changing tactics for police officers in schools

The recent outburst of school shootings has cause a re-thinking of tactics that police in schools should use.  Lock-downs and waiting-for-the-SWAT-team are no longer good enough.

  1. Such tactics were never good enough. An active shooter is much like a military ambush. Responding officers (or CHL people) are a relief party for those who are subject to the ambush.

So, rapid but intelligent movement toward the attacker(s). Charge, but not blindly.
