2nd TX prosecutor Slain
The D.A. and one of his assistants from the same county in TX were murdered in separate incidents in a period of about two months apart. In this latest incident, the D.A.'s wife was also murdered. Authorities are looking to see if there is some tie-in with the recent slaying of Colorado's prison director. Suspicion has fallen on a white supremacist gang. Of course, like everyone, even they are entitled to the presumption of innocence.

Bars on your windows, a 2x4 across your door, a gun in every room, a guard dog laying in the living room...The difficulty of adequately defending against a home invasion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. A well-planned home invasion by sometimes multiple armed and determined offenders is always difficult. Many people are altruistic and will open their doors to a person who appears to be injured. They are expecially likely to do this if the Trojan horse is female or a young person. If the occupants are armed, it at least increaes their chances. The right to have arms for self-defense is not a right that will inevitably defeat criminals. It just freedom of choice about arms and increases the innocent person's chances.
