Nearly 3/4 of Americans think the ObamaCare mandate is unconstitutional.
Nearly 3/4 of respondents in this poll felt the ObamaCare mandate (individuals required to purchase health insurance) is unconstitutional. Whether 56% (or 5/9) of the Supreme Court will agree remains to be seen. This is a good website. Check it out if you have time.

. . . and now for a summary of the number of people who cite unconstitutionality who have never seen the Constitution . . .
ReplyDeleteRidgway: Good point! We fail miserably to educate Americans on the Constitution and its history. Too often a person's approach to the constitution is controlled by their attitude toward an issue (e.g gun control, federal power), rather than the other way around.
ReplyDeleteThe media's overblown attention to public opinion I think is partially due to it's attempt to sell papers and make headlines. A proper follow up question such as "and why do you think so" would give some perspective to the responses.
ReplyDeleteWhen we get to the part where it's all over except for the cryin', folks on the wrong side will have several supreme court justices that agree with their assessment.

ReplyDeleteUnconstitutional is an understatement. Congress' passage of Obamacare was totally unnecessary and improper. A complete violation of their enumerated law making role. Let’s hope SCOTUS carries out their constitutional mandate and declares Obamacare unconstitutional as it most definitely is. America's private healthcare market was never broken contrary to social progressive claims. In addition, natural rights are freely inherited. Medical care fails this test as someone must pay for it. The U.S. Congress was never granted power to legislate such domestic affairs. This power is retained by the individual states and their residents per the 9th and 10th amendments. Know your country’s constitutional by-laws. The socialist wannabes currently in power have purposely subverted our union’s charter to serve their own political elitist ends. That's a fact!
