Former Trump campaign Chair Indicted again

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was  indicted again.  He and a Russian with Russian government connections,  Konstantin Kilimnik, face “ charges of obstructing justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice in connection with what investigators call a secret lobbying scheme on behalf of Ukraine.

The new indictment from the office of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III revolves around alleged efforts by Manafort and Kilimnik to influence potential witnesses. The accusations are part of an effort by Mueller’s office to revoke or revise Manafort’s bail conditions while he awaits trial.”

Has any president ever had former associates indicted?  Not that I can recall.

  1. Interesting. Beginning during the Clinton administration and culminating during the Obama administration, the US taxpayer funded five billion dollars to the coup d'etat in Ukraine. (Remember the famous Nuland phone conversation?)

Quickly after the coup, one of Joe Biden's son entered into business dealings with some of the Neo-Nazis who took over the new administration in Ukraine.

Since our goal had been to bring Ukraine into NATO and into the Eurozone, one wonders what Manafort could have done that did not suit the US government.

And what could he have done that was worse than our government's violation of the UN Charter, our Constitution and our laws?

  3. IMHO, what Manafort did was being somehow connected to Trump. And Trump hating swamp creatures seized on any of POTUS' associates to face their corrupt high handed charges. Trump's election disrupted entrenched life in DC's beltway.
