Most recent Second Amendment decision

In a case Dubbed Heller II,the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld the District's stringent post-Heller new gun laws. One Justice dissented. The majority refused to use strict scrutiny or any test with any teeth. The Court used a "reasonably related" to an "important governmental interest." Under this test, Second Amendment rights are worth very little. The U.S. Supreme Court needs to take a Second Amendment case and settle this issue. For more on this, see this article from Reason magazine. The opinions are long but available in pdf

  1. Let's face it, social progressives feel they can control what you eat (only approved foods), what health choices you have (forced insurance purchases), what transportation you're expected to support (green electric buggies), what light bulbs you're to use (toxic florescence bulbs) and who can own a gun (scary devices far too dangerous for private ownership). Don't believe guns are evil? Take a look at Luxembourg's twisted United Nations sculpture. Yep, it's as dumb as it looks. Much like the intrusive, self-righteous social progressives themselves.

  2. 44: thanks for the comment. You are correct that there is too much self-righteousness in this country threatening constitutional rights. The Nanny State and Safety Nazi philosophies are threats to a free society.
