By Dr. Ray Kessler, who is, incidentally, a retired Prof. of Criminal Justice, former defense attorney and prosecutor is your host. I am also a part-time instructor in Criminal Justice at Richland College, an outstanding, 2-year institution in Dallas, TX.

Dr. Kleck was the only sensible professor mentioned in the article. His statement that campus carry “' ...only changes what people with carry-permits can do ... It extends for gun owners the right to carry a gun onto college campuses that they have virtually everywhere else...'”. Lest we end up with a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde phenomenon. Professor Rayburn and his like minded colleagues fail to understand the reality of concealed carry as being a last resort defensive option that saves lives. I'm not aware of any evidence validating their unreasonable fears of armed chaos. In fact, such emotionally driven anti-concealed carry theories are not only baseless, but are actually counter productive to the protection and well-being of campus communities.
