Although I view the Department of Homeland Security as displacing the Department of Defense's constitutional domestic role, how do you address internal threats to public safety? The concept of individual rights means nothing absent people's physical and/or economic security.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. It is always difficult to find the proper balance between security and individual rights. As you suggest, if enemies bring down our system, or chaos reigns, there will be no rights anyway.
